MCC Ramadan Event
Imam’s Message
February 17, 2026

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu,

Dear beloved members of our community,

All praise is due to Allah who has granted us the blessing of reaching another Ramadan. We ask Allah (SWT) to allow us to witness this month in health, faith, and sincerity, and to make it a means of growth and transformation for each of us.

Ramadan is a month of purification — of the heart, the mind, and the body. It is more than abstaining from food and drink; it is about refining our character, disciplining our desires, and realigning our priorities. The Arabic word for fasting, sawm, means “to refrain.” We refrain not only from nourishment, but from negativity, impatience, harmful speech, and actions that distance us from Allah. Our tongues, our eyes, our ears, our hands, and even our thoughts are invited to fast.

This year, our Ramadan theme is:

“Better Me = Better We.”

Ramadan begins with the individual. When we purify our intentions, improve our character, strengthen our worship, and increase our compassion, we do not grow alone. Our families feel it. Our community benefits from it. Our masjid becomes stronger because of it.

A better “me” — more patient, more forgiving, more disciplined, more generous — leads to a better “we.” A community rooted in sincerity, service, and unity reflects the beauty of Islam in action.

Ramadan is also the month of the Qur’an. Let us renew our relationship with it — not only in recitation, but in understanding and implementation. Let us revive our nights with prayer, our days with gratitude, and our interactions with mercy. Let us serve one another, support one another, and uplift one another.

True success is not limited to 30 days. It is carrying the spirit of Ramadan forward — allowing this month to shape the rest of our year.

May Allah (SWT) grant us sincerity in our worship, acceptance of our fasting and prayers, forgiveness of our shortcomings, and unity in our community. May He make this Ramadan a means of lasting personal growth and collective elevation.

May the peace and blessings of Almighty Allah be upon you all.

Imam Mohammed Abdullahi
